This is a coffee table created using reclaimed old growth lumber that has been ebonized, creating the variance in color.  The trim and the drawer are made from American Cherry. The legs are stainless steel hairpin legs.

  1. That table top is gorgeous. Would it be possible and/or practical to make a 4′ x 8′ kitchen island countertop using the same materials?

    • Hello Gwen. Yes. I think it would look great as an kitchen tabletop. Its not something that you can cut directly on though, like a butcheeblock island. Four feet by eight feet is very large though for just an island. Are those the dimensions that you meant?

      • Yep. It’s actually 48 x 102. We’ve spent the last month trying to figure out what kind of top we wanted. Is that a project you’d do? If so, we’d love to talk to you about it.
